Where to Network in December – Meetups, Conferences, and More

Each month All Hands will share a post of events from around Taiwan. These events will span networking, professional learning, community gatherings, hiring, seminars, happy hours, and more. This will be a living list and is by no means comprehensive. If you know of a great event that should be included, please send us a message to let us know.


*Unless noted, most of these events are in English, but we have not attended all of these series before. You should look into the event if you have any language concerns.


Sarah Yang is the Talent Brand & Diversity Lead at Getaround, the global carsharing leader. Through the lens of diversity, Sarah’s workshop will help you unlock your creativity in and out of the workplace. In this workshop Sarah will cover: * The importance of creativity as an essential skill in the marketplace * How we are all creative * Practical steps and techniques to spark our creativity on a regular basis (please come prepared to participate in light physical activity)


The benefits and challenges facing Third Culture Kids. With Dr. Dan Long, Upper School Dean of Students at Taipei American School.


Over the course of five days, participants in Techstars Startup Week can choose the events they’d like to attend. Events are held at various venues across the city. Speakers from the community, and outside it, are brought in to share their story to motivate and inspire the entrepreneurial community. Local organizers select the tracks they feel are most relevant to their community and choose speakers based on those tracks.


Ian Steff is among the senior officials responsible for executing the Trump Administration’s plans to foster growth in U.S. jobs, exports, and investments. He will highlight the United States’ progress in the Indo-Pacific and areas of alignment between the United States and Taiwan to foster prosperity in both markets and ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific. This event will be a frank panel discussion between foreigners and Taiwanese who are at crossroads in their lives about what they think the future holds for them, whether it be in Taiwan or overseas. For anyone analyzing their next move, this is sure to be an interesting event.

Winter break is around the corner which means many of you will graduate after this upcoming semester. And then what? The biggest decision to make: Should you stay and work in Taiwan or say goodbye to the country you call home? TUTEEMI invited 3 foreign alumni to come and share with you how deciding to stay in Taiwan brought them success in many different ways.

In this event, our speaker, Janice Wang, will be sharing her secrets on the LinkedIn profile essentials that make people hot in the job market.


We will look closer at the Rohingya, a stateless group of people that fled from Myanmar to neighboring Bangladesh. We will also speak about refugees living in the US.
